to
December 24, 2000
Charles (Dub) Gossett was a native Houstonian and graduated from Reagan High School in 1942. He played football and made the "all city team", playing end position.
After
graduation, Dub joined the Army Air Force and was placed in the Air
Transport Command. He served our country until the end of WWII, having
flown all around the world.
After
being discharged, he worked in the air conditioning business. While
working for Straus Frank, Co., he helped air condition the Esperson
Building in downtown Houston. He learned air conditioning from it's
beginning, and his company at that time installed many of the first air
conditioning systems for Houston residents.
Later in life,
Dub prepared for the Gospel Ministry and he established a mission
church, sponsored by First baptist Church of Houston.
Dub
passed away in 2000, leaving his wife of 56 years, 3 children, and 4
grandchildren. His son, Chuck, now owns and operates Gossett Air
Conditioning, Inc., which was established in 1978.
