20 SEER: Trane has designed a system - called the Trane ComfortLink II Communicating System.- that harnesses the power of digital communication to go far beyond heating and cooling to ensure your system is working as efficiently as possible.

  • The Trane XL20i is truly two systems built into one. In Houston Texas we always have the problem of what size AC unit is proper for your home. How many tons do you need when it is 95 degrees outside and 80% humidity versus how many tons do you need when is 88 degrees outside and 40% humidity? Depending on the size of your home and the heat load conditions, you may need a 5 ton system when it is 95 degrees but only 4 tons 88 degrees! This can make the system use more electricity and not remove as much humidity. Trane has overcome this problem by building a true two stage, variable speed system. The XL20i 5 ton system can actually modulate from 5 tons to 4 tons to 3.5 tons to 3 tons depending on the temperature called for. (all tonages can modulate as well)
